How to Raise Your Self Esteem

A common dilemma in the society today is low self-esteem. There are certain moments in your daily life where looking in the mirror isn’t a lovely thing to do. And there are also times when some random dude fat shames a picture you posted in social media. Days like these happen from time to time. The modern age procures lots of pressure towards everybody and nobody escapes that especially now that social media is included. But, there are people who believe having low self-esteem is how their life should be lived. Instead of moving past the negative feedbacks from strangers, they tend to remain on the feeling of hurt over the things said. Later, every day will become a string of negative comments about everything they’re doing in their lives – from doing an activity to the people around them.

Self-hate is poisonous – it eats you inside. It destroys the growing relationship you have with people around you and it sets a limitation to your capabilities as a person. Confidence is one asset everyone should have in their lives, it’s one of the best clothing to wear. The job opportunities are open for anyone, confident people take on this challenge. In terms of relationships, confident people can adjust well to their partners.

For people with low self-esteem it’s a different story. They are likely to form bonds with an abusive person and stay in low income jobs. Indeed, the problem of having low self-esteem generates more problem. The life they’re living is not filled with happiness.

The Causes for Low Self-Esteem

There are numerous reasons for people having low self-esteem. Bad experiences in the past like abusive parents or some emotional trauma can lead to low self-esteem. Instability in the work place or the relationship with your partner can induce low self-worth and self-blame. Making sure that your self-esteem is strengthened is a way to overcome all the negativity you feel. A boost in your morale and self-love is a practice that would help your growth as an individual.

How to Lift your Self-Esteem

Things just don’t happen overnight, it needs time and effort. You should start by analyzing yourself to see where the problem is settling in. Are your problems mostly about your body size and weight or is it about the way people comment things about you? Most people with low self-esteem want to please the people around them. This is not good because the focus should be on the person’s wellness and health, and not on what other people are saying. If you are like this, change should start now.

You are a Person Worth Loving!

Before you do anything in the morning, take deep breaths and reflect on the fact that you are alive at that very moment. Take time to reflect on the things around you and feel the beating of your heart. If your brain begins making up negative things, spin that around and change it into something positive. To wave off those bad vibes, walk some extra minutes after work hours. Everybody has bad days and sad moments, but it should not be the center of everything. Be kinder to yourself, give yourself some slack and remember, someone appreciates you.
